Everything you need to know about working with Gina Ayanna Brand Studio.
Strategic brand photography goes beyond taking beautiful images. It is the process of creating visuals intentionally aligned with your brand message, audience, values, and business goals. Every image is created with purpose so your audience not only sees you, but understands what you do and why it matters.
Headshots are typically focused on a polished portrait. Brand photography tells a larger story. It includes imagery that reflects your personality, process, environment, services, and the experience of working with you. The goal is to create a library of visuals you can use across your website, social media, newsletters, speaking engagements, and marketing materials.
I primarily work with therapists, wellness professionals, consultants, coaches, healthcare professionals, and purpose driven business owners who want imagery that feels authentic, elevated, and aligned with their work.
Absolutely. Most of my clients are not professional models and many feel nervous before a session. I guide you through natural movement, subtle direction, and grounding techniques so your images feel relaxed, confident, and genuinely like you.
Every session begins with strategy and collaboration. We discuss your goals, audience, brand personality, messaging, and where the images will be used. From there, I create a visual direction that may include location recommendations, styling guidance, props, and shot concepts tailored to your brand.
Yes. Your session is designed intentionally around your brand. I provide guidance on locations, wardrobe, colours, textures, and overall visual cohesion so the final imagery feels aligned and professional.
That depends on your brand and the feeling you want to create. Some brands benefit from a clean studio environment, while others feel more approachable or grounded outdoors. Many clients choose a combination of both for variety and versatility.
Brand sessions can include portraits, behind the scenes imagery, lifestyle visuals, workspace imagery, process shots, detail images, client interaction simulations, and content specifically designed for website banners, social media, newsletters, or speaking opportunities.
Most clients update their imagery every 12 to 24 months, or sooner if they are rebranding, launching new services, growing their team, or refining their positioning.
Yes. Your images are created to support your entire brand presence including your website, Psychology Today profile, social media, newsletters, podcast appearances, speaking engagements, and press features.
The duration of your session depends on the type of brand session you select. For instance, our mini brand sessions typically last one hour, while our Signature brand sessions are two hours long.
We recommend booking your session date as soon as you decide to have brand photography done. Typically, we require at least 2–3 weeks' notice, though this can vary depending on the season, as some months are busier than others. Brand sessions are always subject to availability.
The number of images provided depends on the brand session you book. Our brand sessions start with 10 retouched high-resolution images. These images are color-corrected and include basic retouching for blemishes. Additionally, all other unedited, culled images are also provided to the client in the form of a high res .jpg file.
During our brand consultation, we review the best clothing and colour options based on your vision for the brand session.
I offer Personal Brand Photography, Brand Strategy, Social Media Strategy, Content Creation, Brand Clarity, Portraits, Individual Portraits, Personal Branding, and Headshot Photography.
The final images from your brand photography session will be delivered within 15 business days after you make your final selections.
We retouch your final selections for minor blemishes. In-depth retouching is available for an additional fee. The number of retouched images varies depending on the package selected.
We do not crop images except to meet specific print requirements, which our clients approve before the final print. All images are composed and cropped in-camera.
On-location photography is available throughout the Greater Toronto Area and Durham Region, including Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Scarborough, and Toronto.
Because visuals are most effective when they are rooted in clarity and intention. A beautiful image without strategy may capture attention temporarily, but strategic imagery helps create trust, connection, and consistency across your brand.
I don't just focus on creating beautiful visuals. I help clients think through how their imagery, messaging, positioning, and online presence work together as a whole. My goal is to create visuals that support long term brand growth, not just content for the next few weeks.
Possibly. Many businesses already have professional photos but struggle with consistency, positioning, or communicating their value clearly. Strategy helps bridge the gap between how your brand looks and how it connects.
Yes. Storytelling is a major part of my process. We intentionally create imagery that reflects your personality, values, process, and client experience so people feel something when they engage with your brand.
Absolutely. Most business owners are overwhelmed by content creation. I help identify which visuals will serve your business strategically across platforms rather than simply creating random content.
No. Strategic brand imagery is valuable for websites, newsletters, speaking engagements, networking, directories, media opportunities, and referrals. Your brand exists far beyond Instagram.
Yes. We can intentionally create visuals for homepage banners, about pages, service pages, blogs, newsletters, and call to action sections so your website feels cohesive and aligned.
That is often one of the biggest outcomes. When your messaging and visuals are aligned, people are more likely to understand your value, trust your expertise, and feel connected before reaching out.
Brand strategy is the foundation behind how your business communicates and connects with people. It includes understanding who you serve, how you position yourself, the story your brand tells, and how your messaging builds trust and recognition.
Even beautiful visuals will fall flat if your messaging is unclear. Strong messaging helps potential clients quickly understand who you help, what makes your approach different, and why they should trust you.
Any business that relies on trust and connection can benefit from stronger messaging. This is especially important for therapists, wellness professionals, coaches, consultants, and service based businesses where people are choosing the person behind the brand.
We explore your audience, positioning, offers, online presence, visibility gaps, messaging challenges, and long term goals. The goal is to uncover what is working, what may be causing disconnect, and how to create a more aligned and compelling brand presence.
Yes. Many businesses already have strong visuals or a professionally designed website, but still struggle with clarity, consistency, or conversion. Strategy helps refine the message behind the visuals so your brand feels more cohesive and effective.
Absolutely. Sometimes small strategic shifts in messaging, imagery, visibility, or client communication can create a significant impact without starting from scratch.
Yes. Personal branding is often essential for therapists, consultants, educators, speakers, and wellness professionals because people connect with people first. Your brand should reflect both your expertise and your humanity.
The industry has become increasingly crowded and competitive. Strong branding helps establish trust, create recognition, and communicate your approach clearly so potential clients feel more connected before they even reach out.
Not at all. Strategy applies to your website, referrals, networking, Psychology Today profile, speaking opportunities, newsletters, SEO, client experience, and how your brand is perceived overall.
That's okay. Many people come into strategy sessions still figuring that out. Part of the process is identifying patterns, strengths, audience alignment, and opportunities for differentiation.
Yes. I offer short form strategic video content designed to complement your brand photography and help your audience connect with you in a more dynamic and personal way.
This can include behind the scenes footage, short educational clips, movement based visuals, workspace footage, lifestyle content, process videos, speaking clips, and simple brand storytelling content for social media and websites.
Not at all. Many clients prefer subtle, cinematic, or movement based content rather than direct talking videos. We can create video content that feels natural and aligned with your comfort level.
Video helps people feel your energy, presence, and personality in a way static images sometimes cannot. It builds familiarity and trust faster, especially in service based industries.
Yes. We discuss what content would be most useful for your brand, audience, and goals. The focus is on creating intentional content rather than simply filming random clips.
Absolutely. The videos are designed to be versatile and can be used across Instagram, LinkedIn, websites, newsletters, and presentations.
Most short form brand videos range from 5 to 30 seconds depending on the intended use and platform.
No. Strategic video content should support your overall brand presence and communication, not just trends. The goal is to create content that feels timeless, aligned, and useful beyond a single moment online.
Yes. My approach is focused on creating content that feels human, grounded, elevated, and authentic rather than stiff or overly commercial.
