This week, I stepped out of my comfort zone and gave a talk titled “Swipe Right or Swipe Left, Is Your Brand Dateable?”
If you know me, you know I love working one-on-one with my clients (therapists and wellness professionals). Public speaking isn’t exactly on my list of things to do, but this experience reminded me that growth rarely happens in our comfort zone.
In my talk, I compared branding to dating because at its core, both are about connection.
Here are a few key takeaways I shared:
First impressions matter, but they’re not everything. You can have great visuals, but if your message doesn’t connect, people swipe left.
Know your audience. You can’t attract everyone, but you can deeply connect with the right people, especially when your brand reflects your values and the transformation you offer.
Repetition builds trust. Saying your message over and over isn’t boring, it’s branding. It’s how clients begin to recognize your value and eventually become your biggest advocates.
Speaking to a larger group reminded me that every time we choose discomfort, we expand our possibilities and increase our confidence.
So here’s your gentle nudge this week: if something feels uncomfortable but aligned with your growth, do it anyway. That’s where new opportunities live.
P.S. If you’re a therapist or wellness professional looking to clarify your message and attract your ideal clients, I share more tips like this in my newsletter.
